sevilla-guillena

Leaving Seville early in the morning, crossing the river via Puente de Isabel II.

A young couple had their silent moment on this bridge.

The way out of Seville goes through industrial areal, a lot of asfalt walking. But after some 10-12 km, the landscape change.

In the distant we have Hedi and Heri, two germans I followed with to the albergue in Guillena.

Guillena

On the way out of Guillena, we cross the river Rivera de Huelva, pass an industrial quarter and continue on a fine earth road going through olive and cotton plantations.

Along the way, beautiful views of the hills with olive and orange orchards.

Along the path we see rosemary, sage and the beautiful sun eye (or whatever it is called).

Castilblanco is a charming little place.

Castilblanco

From Castilblanco de los Arroyas there is 29 km to Almadén de la Plata, starting with 16 km on an asfalt road until the entrance to the El Berrocal farm. I took a taxa together with 3 germans to that place .

It is a beautiful tour through El Berrocal meadow, through dirt tracks, ending with a hard, but short, ramps of ascent and descent of the Alto del Calvario.

Nice view from the Alto del Calvario down to Almaden de la Plata.

Normaly I would have stayed in Almaden de la Plata, but since I skipped the first 16km it was way to early to stop for the day.

The road continues to Real de la Jara through the Parque Nacional, Sierra Norte, with frequent slopes and beautiful stretches of pasture and Mediterranean forest.

Real de la Jara, another charming little white village, where I got a bed for the night.
